Utility Modernizes Network with FlexEdge DA50

A natural gas utility overseeing 75 remote supply stations needed to modernize its network by transitioning from satellite to cellular connectivity, while maintaining the ability to manage both. The challenge involved routing traffic from cellular and satellite sources to serial Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and TCP routers, along with enhancing security by adding password protection to the RTUs. The utility faced supply delays and sought a solution from Red Lion. The FlexEdge DA50 simplified the utility’s infrastructure by consolidating equipment and enabling better monitoring, security, and diagnostics. With its new system, the utility improved its operational efficiency, reduced equipment, and enhanced the ability to remotely manage stations, ultimately supporting plans for future expansion.
